ACCEPLAN is the brand name of an SME (Acceplan Accesibilidad S.L.) created in 2013 after more than 15 years working in Consultancy, Training and Research from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It is integrated by an economist, three architects and one social innovation specialist, apart from part-time contributors. We work in improving person-environment fit in all the built areas (housing buildings, urban areas, facilities and public transport infrastructure) by means of researching and analyzing the needs of different groups of the users, mainly persons with any functional limitation, developing solutions and instruments and ensuring normative compliance. Our aim is to integrate the "human scale" into the projects, meaning that the needs of the elderly, disabled, children and other human groups are considered to reach maximum efficiency, accuracy and satisfaction with the final result. Accessibility, universal design and usability, when considered from the start of the project, not only leads to legal compliance but to improving the quality and efficiency of results for all users.
We have worked with different public administrations, public bodies and companies in urban reform, functional adaptation of housing, action planning, regulation design, specialist training courses, international conferences organization and the design of strategies and tools for different sectors, such as hospitality, urban development, housing rehabilitation and functional adaptation.
